Hello girlfriend,
Now we know in every make up loving girl there should be a must have lipstick or at least the 'I feel lucky today' lipstick. I initially just wanted to talk about the Signature Cosmetics liquid metal lipsticks(gloss) I am not sure what they are, instead I thought it would be better if I include the newest additions to my stash.
I hope you are doing great as the winter is slowly creeping in on this side of the country. I am that one weird person who buys lipsticks with colours that are out of season. Am I the only one? I cannot be alone in this. Take this as a warning for the colours you are about to see before wondering to yourself why am I wearing pink in April.
I will stop jabbering. I have for you some beau's from L.A. Girl Matte Lipsticks. I gotta say I love the formula of these lippies except for the bright pink one. They totally missed the matte there. It applies well but I feel like it swishes around on my lip and has a sheen to it, some translucent powder is needed for this one, to set it in place and to make it matte.
I apologise for the botched purple lipstick(pleasures of living with a 2 year old). I was not looking when that happened and I had just bought it that day, the horror! Either way this one is the best, the colour and the formula, the decision to buy it was on a whim and it looked amazing when I tried it out. The dark brown lippie, is an oldie of mine as you can see from the picture the labelling has been wiped off. This is my winter favourite and when I am feeling minimalist. It has the same formulation as the purple one, in other words it's good.
Now off to the liquid lippies. Signature Cosmetics is the dupe of L.A. Girl, at least that is what I think. I just recently saw L.A. Girl's metallic lipstick and when I went to Signature Cosmetics I saw their metallic glosses( I am not sure what they are) and I was excited cause then I can try them out first to see if I dig this metallic look. I can suggest you try them out unlike the Chinatown products that I bought the last time(don't judge me).
They are very runny compared to the L.A Girl metallic lippies. The red one has a sticky finish, by sticky I mean your lips stick together when you press them on each other, so a translucent powder is used to help counteract this. The gold one does not have that effect. Since they have a runny texture they swish around your lips when applying them so best to apply a thin layer and then re-apply again to get a good covering. I like the colours but I am not sure where I would wear the gold one, I have used it as an eye shadow though and it did well.
Lastly the LA Flat Finish Pigment Gloss, that is a long name. This one is also sticky but very pigmented. It used to be a struggle to use it before I learned about the translucent powder trick. I want to try out more glosses in this line as I have heard that not all their liquid lippies are sticky. I think it was my first liquid lippie and it turned me off from them until I was given a NYX lippie.
There you have it with my small lippie collection. I hope you enjoyed this post. I am in no way a make-up guru, I just love lipsticks and I am still learning the trade of make-up. Feel free to share your tricks and what you are learning in your make-up journey if you are new to it like me.
Until next post, God bless...
