I am a bit of a D.I.Y. person so I get a kick out of creating something most especially for my hair or anything for that matter. To make things better I am leaving my list of products here.
First off I will give you my list of products that I keep handy for any of my creations
My oils:
I changed up my daily spritz formula and have been using this one which has aided in the thickness of my hair a lot:
To maximize my conditioning time I add this to my masque
I also mix my protein treatment with my deep conditioner, this depends on how strong the protein treatment is.
My favourite or go to products are: none at the moment, I have been on a journey of trying out South African hair products and marking the ones that I like along the way, will update this when I believe I had reached my mark.
But so far conditioners from these brands are the ones I will go back to, Nilotiqa, Afro Botanics and Native Child.
First off I will give you my list of products that I keep handy for any of my creations
My oils:
- olive oil
- grapeseed oil(holy grail)
- coconut oil
- castor oil
- jojoba oil
- eucalyptus eo
- lemon eo
- tea tree eo
- lavender eo
- rosemary eo
- pepper eo
I changed up my daily spritz formula and have been using this one which has aided in the thickness of my hair a lot:
- pre-boiled water half
- aloe vera juice half
- 2 tablespoons castor oil
- 2 tablespoons grapeseed oil
- 5 drops eucalyptus oil
- 5 drops lavender oil
- 5 drops rosemary oil
- teaspoon glycerine(new addition)
I find it easier to apply castor oil and essential oils to my hair in this way, as it keeps them light especially castor oil because it is a thick oil. I shake the bottle continuously to keep the oils mixed with the liquids.
I have found the best bentonite clay for is from this brand, it mixes well and feels softer than the Nature's Choice one, I bought this clay from Clicks. It actually does react with ACV by for forming bubbles, it has a brown colour than a grey colour I think it's because it is a calcium bentonite clay.
- equal parts bentonite clay and liquids(or whatever consistency you want)
- one part ACV to two parts warm water
- spoon of any career oil of choice(mostly grapeseed, provides slips)
- and tea tree or lavender eo 3 drops each
To maximize my conditioning time I add this to my masque
- a spoon of grapeseed oil
- and essential oils
- honey sometimes
I also mix my protein treatment with my deep conditioner, this depends on how strong the protein treatment is.

These mixes work for my hair, they may or may not work for yours , it's a trial and error situation.
Thank you for reading, God bless...
