Hello lovelies,
Happy New Year from fro and I.
I have been thinking about what to do with Moriri Wa Tshego and I am still not sure, while I am thinking about that I will do post like these that are close to my life as much as possible and that means that I will lack in consistency a bit. I am also pondering on combining both my blogs into one, then it won't be much of a hassle to update and post.
Now that is out of the way, how are you? Is 2018 great or what? I mean now that I am maturing I look for excitement in anything and everything, a new year means a new start whether good or bad, it's all about perception right? In saying that, I hope you are doing amazing and even if the year is greeting you with a slap, I encourage you to slap it back and walk on with a smile on your face.
My last post was a long time ago, not even a happy end of year post, huuu shame , sorry. I heat damaged my hair and will tell you all about it in another post. In this post , I will be sharing with you all the products that I purchased and have finished using last year and will most likely purchase again. If you follow me on Instagram, you will have noticed that I have added new products to my collection(should not come as surprise), I am officially a product junkie but my goal this year is to purchase when I have run out of a product and I have been pulling it off for the month so far.
First off is the Nilotiqa conditioner, I managed to stretch this conditioner out for as long as I could, reason being it is sold online and I like convenient things especially when it comes to buying hair and skin products. I used it on Mpho's hair mostly, after I realised that it works as a great leave-in for her hair and conditioner. We started off by using it as a conditioner, maybe two times for me and regularly for her, and then I decided to use it as a leave-in when we do a LOC method on the weekends that we are not washing her hair and that way it managed to last this long, we literally just used the last drop last night. I will be going to BeautyOnTapp soon to order another one and their detangling cream.
Secondly it is the Afro Botanics Kiddies 3 in 1 spray, it is actually the 2nd one we have bought and finished since I grew out Mpho's hair. So that should say a lot on it's own. We diluted it with water so that it sprays evenly, the product seems a bit too thick for the nozzle. And then we used it like a spritzer and also as a liquid on our LOC days. Another one on the list is the moisturising butter from My Natural Hair, honestly this has been the best. It is a moisturising butter, it's great for one of those days where you're lazy to moisturise so it serves as a cream and butter in one. It has water in it so you don't have to spray the hair sometimes when you are in the rush. When I wanted to quickly style Mpho's hair this would be the go to product and when I wanted to tame it a bit, this would still be my go to product. Even when I wanted to seal both our hair I would use this product. The best part about it is that it did not cause our hair to shrink *browny points right here*! I have already bought a butter from Afro Botanics, so after we have finished using it, I will judge which butter takes the cake.
I have a few more products that have a few drops left in them which are Afro Botanics Black Pearl shampoo, Miss Jessie's Transitioner's Magic and My Natural Hair conditioner. I don't use shampoo a lot and I have a medicated shampoo, which is used more often than the Black Pearl one. I don't think I will continue using it though because I did not find it special in any way, so I use it to wash my tools and DIY kits. I use the Miss Jessie's as a leave-in sparingly because it is expensive, I also use it when I blow out my hair and the MNH conditioner is used as a detangler or sometimes as a leave-in as well. I found that it worked best on dry hair, cause when I used it as a conditioner on damp hair it not take well. At least I figured out how to use it, but I will not be repurchasing it.
Oh I almost forgot one thing, I bought grapeseed oil from Native Child and I have been hooked ever since. Grapeseed oil is life! For real though, I have not discovered such an oil that my hair loves so much, more than olive oil. I am not a coconut oil girl so this was an experience that all the coconut oil girls talk about. I use this oil for just about anything, skin and hair, pre-poo, oil rinse, extra slip and sealant, dilute essential oils and thin out castor oil/olive oil, anything that you can use an oil for. I even went out of my way to purchase a litre of this oil at Dischem and cook with it too. It's life.
Let me get back to you. Speaking about oils, I just threw out bottles of finished tea tree oil and lemon oil which I had been using for my scalp and skin and have already included them in this months repurchase list. At the beginning of this post I had thought I will be talking about hair products only and forgot that oils are an essential part of my hair regimen and my hair stash. I think that just about covers all the products that I have emptied.
It was fun writing this and I hope I will be able to do this more often. I have missed you guys and I do hope that I am leaving with something on this site. I will just put this here, I bought a Native Child conditioner and I used it and finished I completely forgot about that. I will keep updating this post if I remember anything. They have a bigger size one and I can't wait to get my hands on it.
Until next post, God bless...
