Additions to my hair stash!!!

Bentonite and AVC Hey, I am getting a hang of having a blog so some weeks I forget to post really, I apologize. I hope you are having a blessed week, so am I. On to the hair stuff, I recently bought some new things to add to my hair regime and I have done some DIY stuff as well, stuff stuff stuff(lol)...  I bought Apple Cider Vinegar , Nature's Choice ACV, R 18.95 at Dis-chem and Bentonite Clay also Nature's Choice Bentonite Clay at Dis-chem R 32.95 and then I made some onion juice. I am going to incorporate these products into my regimen as I have mentioned and some I have already started with. ACV: It smells very strong, phew! Close your nose if you have sensitive sniffers, I have braids and it is quite a mission to stand in the shower and wash them, so I am doing a light cleanse with this product. I mix it in water -1 part ACV and 2 parts water- you can research mixes to your liking or use as it is. I researched and mostly bought it to relieve my itchy scalp and y...

Braids Protective Style

Hey there, GRWM to work Yes protective styling, I am using that term because it is used everywhere with people who have hair like mine which is called 4C. So yeah I have decided to get braids done for the winter, because I am lazy and it is ideal to protect my hair in this harsh weather. The Installation: I was looking for someone to do my hair for a long while and when I found this lady I was very skeptical because I can do my own hair but since I was lazy I had to trust her to do the right thing. I told her I am a very difficult person and have a sensitive scalp.  She took 5.5 hrs and we used 7 packs of Frika Braid Hot Fibre 1B Rich Black(Clicks R27.75) I bought them on special 3 for 2. She does not grip too hard and it was not sore, only one braid has come off from the back after a week.  The Fibre: The hair is very light after 7 packs of it on my head, I can not feel it at all, I am not sure whether it is the way she installed it or what but I am loving it!...

Forgetting God on Holiday

Hi, How many of you fall in to this?? I was guilty of this, this past weekend when I went to go visit my family. God had little of my attention, actually he was squeezed in wherever possible, or he had none at all, it was like that thing he does when you know he is there but you don't feel his presence, it was like I had forsaken him. That is what troubles me most now, he was in my mind at the back of my head I continued about life having limited conversations with him, only praying at bedtime because I remembered that I didn't in the morning, or say grace during mealtimes. I don't want my regular routine to be disturbed just because I am in a different environment. It's embarrassing but I won't dwell on that I noticed my mistake and I am determined to find a way to not let it happen. I think one other was that I was afraid to have people notice this new me, but that's gone now. I think it's a common mistake that most of us do especi...

Taking Salvation Seriously

So now you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior, from this point onward what happens? After this monumental event in your life(that only you know about) , are you still going to continue from yesterday or start afresh from that moment onward? I continued from yesterday countless times, so no one is judging you if that is what you have been doing and this post is here to show you a new direction, something that no one tells you about, I get it it is suppose to be an individuals journey but then what is the whole point of having brothers and sisters in the Lord? It is important to notice that you have been in a circle for too long as well, you accept the Lord and nothing takes place, you go about your life like nothing happened, you are not learning from your constant acceptance of this magnificent being? I started taking my salvation seriously after I had my kid, I knew I was saved this whole time but my life was no different and I had...

Always searching for a solution

Hey hey, Why are we always searching for a solution? Aren't we satisfied with the current routine that we have for our hair? The hair community has so many methods of taking of care your hair, to make it healthy and long and some of us always fall for this many many methods endlessly. We are constantly in  search of what is working , instead of what is working for your hair. Blogger hopping from one site to the next, you might be doing more damage than good but if this is what you enjoy doing then don't let me hold you back. It is allowed to do research( I am still researching) and a bit of experimenting, and continue keeping up to date with your favorite blogs. For as long as you will have your hair you will experience something new, at least that is what I have notice with the blogs that I follow and my own hair, now that it is longer the process of taking care of it is different from when it was short, meaning that now I have to find something that will hel...

Bible reading challenge!

Hello, I have been thinking about this since my last post and thought why not challenge myself in to doing this and hopefully you will join me. This morning I got an idea on how to go about with this challenge for you but I will be doing the same thing when the current method I am working on fails me. I think it is good to have variation but still be consistent. If you have a smart phone with a Bible app on it, that means there is a daily devotional in there. It is easy to receive the word in bit of chunks to meditate on it and memorise it.  So with your daily devotional I suggest that you do that, read it 2-3 times , ask Holy Spirit to help you understand the scripture (best to do this before you read it). From here then you can look for different translations or further explanations online to help better your understanding. After you have cracked that now it is time to meditate on the scripture, I read somewhere that worrying is the same as meditating because you will be rep...

Leaving my hair alone challenge

Head wrap week for me Hey Rockstars I have been doing this challenge for about a month now. Currently this week I am on a head wrap challenge to keep the above mentioned challenge going, I don't have enough scarf though but I will pull it through. The other weeks I was wearing wigs and I spoke about them on my previous post. What is this challenge for? Apparently our hair (kinky hair) likes to be left alone or it cannot take daily manipulation very well and I want to put that to test. To retain length and moisture leaving your hair in a style (flat twist, twist, braids) for a week to two weeks should help.  How have I been doing it? The first month doing this was a mess because I had my hair in twists and I was doing my washes on weekends and midweek co-wash with them on. My hair ended up matting with a lot of single strand knots. I switched to doing braids on it and it made that a lot better, I had less knots and my hair did not mat so much I think it is also because I k...
