Hair Challenge done, goodbye 2016!

Hello lovelie, It has been a minute, and we are about to end the year can you believe it? I hope 2016 has not been as blue as it has for most people and I surely do hope you will end it with a bang! So many things to say and so little time? Whatever I forget I will tell in the coming year, I think this is gonna be my last post for the year. Have a merry blessed Christmas and a happy New Year! Now back to hair. Remember my hair challenge? Yes that one! It is done, a little bit early I know but I had missed my hair so much I could not wait another week longer, hope you forgive me. I took off the hair a week early and boy was it a struggle, I was taking advantage of the long weekend since it was a public holiday on a Friday. I might go back and forth with you, telling you about the journey. First up the routine was simple and I spoke about it in the previous post how I maintained my corn rows. I continuously did that for the whole of 7 weeks! Congratulate me please, I stuck it out....

Worshipping and Praising God

Hey Child of God, There is no greater thing you can do for yourself than this! Honestly speaking, you know that feeling you get when you lift your hands up to the Lord in total surrender or worship and praise! Amazing. Do you try to mimic the person you are at church when you are at home? Why not? I am also no expert but I try most times. It feels like I am bringing heaven down in to my bedroom, living room or kitchen where ever I may be, even the bathroom stall at work ( I am serious). I do this because there is no better thing that could keep me calm or give me a good mood than this. I read on some Christian blogs that worshipping can be in many different forms, though we have made singing the most standard way. The definition of worship is "show reverence and adoration of (a deity) in our it is God, and this has been done by building churches where we physically go to worship.  The definition of praise is "express warm approval or admiration of" and this would...

Protective Style Challenge Update 1 30days

Hey you, I tried though right? On the 31st of October I decided to sit and do my corn rows till midnight lol, my arms were sore the whole week that week but I am happy with the outcome! In case you are wondering what I am talking about, I have come up with a protective style challenge where I will be keeping corn rows on my hair for 8 weeks which should be 60 days and you can read more about it here . So it has been officially a month now and I miss playing with my hair lol, I really do though so another 4 weeks is a long stretch *tear drop*. I have been washing my hair twice a week and sometimes 3 times a week depending on my scalp. I started washing with the vegetable soap once a week for the first 2 weeks and the 3 rd wash would be with shampoo. Then for the past 2 weeks it has been water wash twice and then the soap once which would fall on the weekend. posted this on my instagram https://www.instagram.com/p/BM7PILolBZf/?taken-by=tsheggie_m After washing m...

Admit your defeat to the Lord.

Hello child of God, This came into my mind the other day when I had to admit my defeat , that I did not realise as defeat. This correlated with the verse that says not to worry about anything but pray about everything. and the other one in Proverbs that says you should surrender your plans to the Lord. I will put in the scriptures. I have mentioned in one of my posts that I could be suffering from depression but I do not want to wear that. So when my day suddenly has dark clouds , I go into remission so bad that I go to the bathroom and cry. The last time I stopped myself from crying, because I realised that this was becoming a habit and I had a view of myself as someone who is always crying sorrowfully and it is not pleasant at all. I stood in there and told God I am tired of crying, I am tired of coming to this place where I just feel hollow and sorrowful. I was accepting my defeat to depression to God. I also acknowledged a possible cause of my downfall for that moment and it ...

African Extracts Rooibos Classic Care Range**

Hello lovelie, Classic Care Range I was given the opportunity to try and test these products for 2 weeks by Beauty Bulletin and I though why not share the review with you guys. Best part about this is that it comes with a video, lol scroll down below you will find it. BB should make me do more reviews so that I can get over my video phobia. How you doing! It is the weekend baby! Without further ado, here is how it all went. The one thing that stands out for me is the Cleansing lotion. I have been pumping it day in and out. I am not one to follow the instructions written at the back to the T, besides using it twice a day. I will go ahead with the regimen and explain in detail how I felt about the individual products afterwards. Wash routine I would apply the lotion on my face, like I am lathering it up and leave it on for a few seconds and then rinse it off with warm water. My skin is very sensitive, so I am not a fan of wiping off with cotton wool or anything. Then I w...

Wet/Dry de-tangling!

Hey lovelie, How you doin'?  I am alright, pushing the hustle on this side of life.  So wet or dry de-tangling? First of all what is to de-tangle? Our hair tangles(hugs itself or other strands) when it grows out, and tangling tends to happen a lot when the hair grows longer. De-tangling is separating the strands so that the hair does not end up locking but it grows out singularly. I hope I am making sense! What is the difference between dry and wet de-tangling? Dry de-tangling is separating the hair strands while the hair is dry, you can use oil, it is advised to use oil so that there is lubrication for the hairs to slip from each other without breaking. This is usually done with fingers, so in essence dry de-tangling goes with finger de-tangling to avoid snagging that a comb brings with. Dry hair snap very easily so this needs very gentle and delicate hands. Wet de-tangling is quite the opposite, your hair would be wet when this is done. I would recommend using ...

Holy Spirit is grieving

Hello you, interesting heading right? I did not know what to name it but these days I have been feeling a certain feeling of grief, hits the nerves and I cannot say it is from me, I don't know how to quite explain it but when I got it,  I asked Holy Spirit why am I feeling like this and he told me that he is grieving or at least that is how I understood it. When Joyce Meyer said you are grieving the holy spirit in one of the YouTube videos I did not understand what she meant but this feeling explained or gave me an idea. It made sense! -Forgive me for diving right into it. I hope you are doing ok, I know it has been a while and I don't have any excuses, I have been more focused on the other blog, please forgive me.- That is me trying to explain the gist of what I am about to get in depth with. The first story is about a mother who found her daughter and nephew(7 & 8 respectively) engaging in sexual behaviour and she was morbid, as a parent I was ...

Taking care of my daughter's hair

Hey lovely, when we have managed to get the hair done, small rubber bands are my new bffs This post was created on the 5th of April. Can you imagine *Nigerian accent* lol. Yes and till this day I have not figured this out guys. I don't know how are other moms doing it out there but for me it is a real struggle.  How are you doing?? I care about you, comment down below how you are doing and hopefully help me with this struggle lol.  My daughter has beautiful hair, more than mine I think. I love my hair, don't take this the wrong way! I am sure any mother would say that about their child though. but really she has beautiful thick hair with different textures , dark in colour. I just love playing with it whenever I can. Hair breakdown: Yes, her hair has two textures. The middle hair has loose curls and the rest of the head has tight curls. It is more curly than it is coily.  She has high porosity hair where the curls are tight and the middle part is mor...

Ever heard of Vegetable Soap?

Hello there, Soil Kenyan Shea Butter and Kalyan Neroli Patchouli Natural Cleansing Bar How you doing? lol, I can't help but think about Wendy Williams when I say that. I hope the week has been blessing you. So I bought a natural soap(am I allowed to say that?), handmade soap, yes a handmade soap, I checked,it is natural. Initially I was out to buy the African Black soap and then I stumbled upon this lovely smelling block and it was priced very well so I thought to myself how about we start here first. I had read countless times that African Black soap can be drying to the skin and I am trying so greatly to avoid that as my skin gets dry quickly, but still curious enough to try a handmade soap hence I opted for that option. This soap smells amazing( I love Patchouli!). I have read as well that the black soap helps with eczema but just to be on the safe side I am trying this one out. Here is my verdict thus far. I am not sure what colour is that I have used this ...

60 Days Protective Style

Hello there, I have been thinking about having a long term protective style for a while now, when I say long term I mean a protective style kept on for more than 4 weeks. Oh look at me getting right into it without asking about you. How you doing? Been a minute , ain't it? I hope all is going good by your side, having a fab mid week! What brought me to finally deciding to do it? I bumped into a blog AfroMoriri lol, I had to go through it because it had Moriri in its name. I mean I could relate! On Daffodil's blog I saw that she had a 6 month protective style challenge and like me she mentioned that she was procrastinating when to start. This was not a coincidence finding this at this time, because she started hers in November and that is next month, HELLO protective style! So this puts me at the right spot to start this challenge. I am hoping there will be some people who will join me along the way. I know exactly how I want this to go since it has be...

A piece of my heart to you

You know when you are feeling blue somehow you become most creative. Thinking about the most creative poetic pieces ever? I want to talk to you. I want to talk to a girl, a woman, whatever you identify yourself as. As long as you are female. I have noticed that us girls don't have support, towards each other, from each other, for each other.  And I know that this is gonna come as a surprise to you especially on this blog but in all  honesty this is the direction I set to take from the beginning to talk about more deeper  things. We always have to find a way to attract your attention first. I woke up thinking of how we are marvellously  made. How our body is a gift to the world. I am a very spiritual person if I have already thrown  you off then I guess this marks the spot for you, I would love for you to hear me out  though. So yes, we are marvellously made! And this is all in appreciation of our physique. Not how  it is, sexy it is or other su...

How is October looking

Hello lovelies, spring in my yard Been dragging to talk to you this week, it's not you it's me lol. What could you have possibly done to me beside come here and have an occasional read? How you doing(in Wendy's voice)... I surely hope that this month has brought you some lady luck It looks like this post is always gonna be late, it should be the first to greet you when the month starts but oh well let's get on with it. I am going to give you an update on my last month's regimen and what this month's plan has been so far(I'd rather not because I have not been a good naturalista). If you are new, welcome, last month I posted a plan for the month here , and I carried it out quite well throughout the month. There is also an update about how I kept on with it here .  SO my take down about the routine  my roots came out very thick, and it could be because of a lot of factors (frequent water, scalp stimulation, castor oil with scalp massage) my ha...

Wig Slayage!!

Wig Slayage! What is up?  I can't stop laughing at my post's name, yes wig slayage. See that pic there, yes girl that is a wig that I made. And I am going to tell you all about it. I hope you are having a blessed week thus far. Since my days of camping on YouTube, wig making tutorials are one of the most videos  I watched because wigs can be so darn expensive. I meditated on it and now I am on my 2nd wig and I am gonna keep going!  On my first wig I did not have a mannequin head,so I made the investment to buy one and that was a good decision. It made a huge difference with how this wig came out. I have been wearing this wig for about a week while my hair is in a 2 week old twist underneath. Like I mentioned I plan on making more to keep hiding my hair while looking good. This is a good way to keep your long term protective style hidden when it start to look fury! If you are interested in making your own wigs, these are the tools I suggest you buy: mannequi...
